STORIX FUSION - PERSONAL PORTABLE HARD DRIVE - eMA Review *****

If you are like most marketers you use several computers. One at the office, one at home, a laptop or two. The Storix portable hard drive, can be the most valuable computer product you can own. It's about the size of an electronic organizer and holds up to 60 gigabytes of your data. You can move data from the office to home to your laptop simply and easily.

Design points that count:

· 3-in-1 Hi-Speed USB & USB / Firewire mobile hard drive
· Perfect back up solution
· Extremely portable
· Hot plug and play & Swappable Features
· No external power necessary on most systems
· Storage upgrades for notebooks and desktop PC’s
· Hi-Speed USB 2.0 fully compatible with original USB / Firewire Technology provides for multi-connectivity
· Compatible with PC & Mac
· Superb design and small enough to fit in your pocket

Think about it. Laptops can be stolen or damaged, your system at work is venerable to a number of hazards, hackers can break into most home DSL or cable systems. The Storix drive gives you the ability to secure large amounts of data, music, videos, photographs, and presentations easily and in a very small package. If you take a minute to think about how valuable your computer files are, you will see that the Storix drive is an excellent value. Sure you can use CD's to back up data but they are fragile, and hold very little data. Tape drives and other solutions hold a lot of data but are awkward, require power and certainly won't fit in your pocket. The eMA has tested the Storix fusion drive and given it a five star rating for speed and performance. It is capable of running video directly from the drive, as well as many computer programs.

Lets say you use Pagemaker and want to use it on several computers, put the program on the Storix and you can take the program from computer to computer with only one license. Or maybe you have a favorite program that the IT people at work won't let you put on your office computer, just plug in the Storix with your program on it and run it from the drive itself. Keep in mind that not all programs will run from a portable drive, but many will.

The drive is packaged with it's own genuine black leather caring case and USB and firewire cables. It has an attractive ice blue light about the size of a half dollar that glows in almost an unworldly way when the drive is being accessed.

Remember that even the Storix is vulnerable to damage so for super sensitive or critical data multiple back up solutions are required.

Cost: from $240 to $399 depending on storage capacity. Manufacturer website: http://www.mystorix.com/fusion_idx.html
