Tut Bailey is primarily responsible for e-marketing strategy clients and education industry reports at Fong Strategy. He recently joined the research-driven consulting firm after 10 years of leading online marketing efforts for three of the largest and most well-known brands – Penn State, AT&T and AAA.

Prior to joining Fong Strategy, Tut directed marketing strategy and improved online customer acquisition, retention and penetration for AAA across the Carolinas. He streamlined the customer experience and implemented a more strategic, customer-centric approach to e-mail and site content, resulting in a 17-percent increase in online revenue for the second half of 2009. The insurance, new-membership, bargain-travel and auto-repair sectors each jumped over 50 percent with no significant change in marketing spend.

At AT&T, Tut was one of the first ten people hired as search-engine marketing managers (SEMs) for the largest communications company in the world. Jonathan Carson
Chairman and CEO
BiddingForGood

Jon Carson is CEO of BiddingForGood, a unique cause-related e-commerce platform that hosts and connects thousands of charity auctions and their affluent donors to marketers to create measureable ROI value for all.  In January of 2010 BiddingForGood was named to the OnMedia 100- the 100 most innovative venture capital backed marketing/e-commerce companies in the U.S.
Jon is a leading thinker on how advertising works and what it will have to deliver in the future. His core philosophy is that advertising must deliver against three strategic imperatives.

  • Targeting (narrowcast vs. broadcast) to be efficient
  • It must deliver guaranteed performance based ROI (there can be zero downside for marketers)
  • It must reach consumers just as they are making purchasing decisions to avoid the disappointing results of social networking websites.

He is a serial entrepreneur who, other than brief stints at Boeing and McKinsey & Company, has always worked on new ventures.

In 2008, Jon recognized that online charity auctions were a unique marketing/advertising platform that held three attributes important to marketers;
1.) They are highly targeted and measureable reaching affluent baby boomers, typically women,
2.) They reach these consumers through their trusted causes resulting in significantly higher engagement, and
3.) They reach affluent consumers just as they are making purchasing decisions.

As a result cMarket launched its unique product placement advertising program booking $1.3m in advertiser commitments in 2008 and $5.2m in 2009.

He has started and profitably sold three companies, the most recent being FamilyEducation Network (Fen.com) which used a unique sponsorship model to become the largest education portal on the Internet. In total he has returned in excess of $175 million to investors and has never lost investor money.

Jon, a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2009 Award in New England, is currently on the board of Taunton Press, a specialty magazine publisher. He has previously served on the boards of the National PTA and the Small Business Association of New England (SBANE). In 2008 Jon was inducted into the Babson College Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.
